Choir Director
Position Announcement



Northminster Presbyterian Church of Sacramento, California [northminsteronline.org] is seeking applicants for its open Choir Director position. Northminster is located in the Arden-Arcade area of Sacramento. We are a music and mission minded, Christ-centered Presbyterian(USA) congregation of 250 members.

The Choir Director Position is a year round, part-time (15-20 hours per week) exempt position. This person works as a team with the Pastor, Worship Elder, other music staff, and volunteers to provide music leadership for the weekly worship services and other special worship services throughout the year.

The primary duties and responsibilities include:
* Direct the Chancel Choir in rehearsals and weekly worship.
* Work with the Organist/Pianist in coordinated worship.
* Work with the Pastor in planning of weekly Christ-centered services.
* Recruit, schedule and support all services, including special services throughout
   the year (i.e., Advent, Christmas, Holy Week and Easter).
* Work with and support other music groups (Bells, Orchestra, Praise Team).

The skills and abilities needed/desired include:
* Commitment in faith as a growing disciple of Jesus Christ.
* Flexibility, creativity, ability to work ahead and meet deadlines.
* Ability to work with others on staff and with volunteers.
* Possession of a Bachelor's degree in music or equivalency in
    education/training.
* Ability to recruit new members for the choir.

Immediately after each Sunday Worship service we enjoy coffee and fellowship. We use this time to get to know each other better.

Let us help you get plugged in. We have so many programs and studies to be a part of here at Northminster.

Throughout the year we offer such activities as a Music Camp for Children, Vacation Bible School, a Fall Fun Festival with food and games and other entertainment provided and in December we celebrate Jesus’ birthday with the guests bringing unwrapped toys for children in need and cake and ice cream for the guests.

Mission Work
Northminster’s Local Mission program supports the “Brown Bag Program” for those who would benefit. We also provide aide and supplies to Dyer Kelly School. We have many groups and committees that dedicate their time to mission work both local and out in the field.
