SOUP-ER SENIOR LUNCH

The Soup-er Seniors will get off to an early start on Wednesday, Sept. 1st.
So mark that date on your calendar and plan on being in the social hall at noon for fellowship, fun, food and a fantastic program.

The year will continue on the first Wednesday of every month at noon and end in a flourish with the June talent show! We have so many willing volunteers this year that I would like to name some of them as they are what make this program at Northminster so outstanding.

We have soup and songs with Jack Carey, magic and/or jokes from Joe Chez and Cliff Lester, medical advice from Barbara Chance, decorations done by Peggy Sheaffer and table settings by Tom and Mercedes Grosen.

The soup servers, salad and dessert team are Jan DeMassey and Allie Kinnaird. And, we’re most grateful to the clean-up twosome of Victoria Roff and Betty Van Der Kamp. So be sure to thank these special people when you next see them. We’ll look forward to seeing YOU at Soup-er Seniors on Sept. 1st!

NIMBLE THIMBLES
The Nimble Thimbles meet the first and third Thursdays at 10AM to sew and to socialize. Bring a
Sack Lunch. Projects include lap robes and baby quilts. Thursday is a time of gentle fellowship, friendships new and long cherished and a time to create lap robes and baby quilts to be gifted to members, friends and shut-ins! Come even if you don't sew and just want to fellowship or even learn more about what we do. There is always something to do that will help us out.
First and Third Thursdays at 10:00 AM

QUILTERS

The Quilters group meets every Monday at 9:30AM to work on group and individual   projects. We have provided over 50 quilts to Volunteers of America. Just walking in our Fellowship Hall you will have your breath taken away by the incredible quilts that our women create. Mondays are a time to set aside to share the creative energy and passion for quilting with women who range from “expert” to “wanting to get started” in the art of quilting. Fellowship, support and creativity abound! Join us!
Mondays at 9:30 AM

MELLO MILERS

A mellow group that enjoys traveling God’s world around us, near and far. They meet on the 2nd Tuesday to talk and plan.  Wanderers are always welcome.
2nd Monday at 1:00PM

Our Caring Ministries

DEACONS

The Deaconate ministry includes caring for the Northminster congregation by:
Visits to the ill, sending special-thought cards, birthday cards, home communion, memorial receptions, transportation service and more.

PARISH NURSE/HEALTH MINISTRIES

Our Parish Nurse, Barbara Chance, R.N., makes hospital & home visits and phone calls to members and non-members, holds a monthly Blood Pressure screening on the first Sunday of every month after the worship service, and writes an article for the monthly church newsletter.  She has office hours at the church on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings for individual appointments. The church also has a loan closet of durable medical equipment such as walkers, canes, commodes, crutches, etc.

A Healing Prayer Group meets the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of the month at 10:00 AM in the Parish Nurse's office. Please feel free to join us as we review prayer requests and discuss ongoing needs.

Also, there is a Healing and Wholeness Service held on the last Sunday of each month in the sanctuary following the morning worship service.

PHONETREE COMMUNICATIONS

The PhoneTree communicates information to our congregation along with information about sicknesses and deaths.
