SACRAMENTO, CA (KOVR/FOX) - Robert Glenn has wanted to skydive for the past 30 years, and this weekend, he finally fulfilled that dream.
Unlike most skydivers, Glenn has cerebral palsy and is in a wheelchair. But he didn't let his limitations stop him. He finally took the plunge from 13,000 feet over California.
"Half my friends think I'm crazy, the other half say go for it," Glenn said. "That freefall was unbelievable and the parachute ride afterwards was just so peaceful."
He had such a good time, he says he wants to go again.
NPC Adult Mission Trip to Zephyr
Point
Our job was to help with winter:ng and
clean up (Wed. Nov. 11-Sunday Nov. 14) We
stayed in two cabins up on the hill. We were
10 people (Pastor Jeanie, three 'really' old
timers and six brand new members and
friends). We built and stained 10 picnic
tables, did a 4800 count mailing, trimmed
roses, removed pine cones from the road,
cleaned the grounds and composted them and
cooked and ate WAY TOO MUCH FOOD. The
weather cooperated and was perfect. It was
clear and cold the whole time but
conveniently snowed the first night so we
woke up to a beautiful blanket of whiteness.
A few of us met at a friend's home for some finger food and wine (can you tell?) We had a lovely evening enjoying each other's company and swapping stories.
