JACKETS FOR DYER KELLY
Thank you to all who donated backpacks and granola bars to our local Elementary School!
This month our Mission of the Month will be children’s jackets and coats.
The children of Dyer Kelly often come to school without any warm jacket. Sweatshirts, fleece jackets, down coats, windbreakers, jackets and coats are all welcome!
The donations will be split between
our neighborhood school, Dyer Kelly, and the Chinle Presbyterian Church.
Our youth went on a mission trip to Chinle a year ago,
and we have kept in contact with the Navajo ministry in Chinle.
Our Mission Committee sent two huge boxes of coats to the children of Chinle last year.
Please bring your donation of new or gently used coats and jackets to worship.
A mission donation box is available in the narthex.
Contact Liz Moese 489-7982 or Lynda Languasco 485-0225 for info!

REFORMATION SUNDAY
October 25th
It was a beautiful All Hallows Eve, the night before the celebration of All Saint’s Day in Wittenberg, Germany, when the young Priest, Martin Luther nailed 95 thesis’ to the door of his church. It was a daring move, as the 95 thesis were a critique on the Catholic Church and the controversy that ensued sparked the re-formation of the church, what we now know as the Protestant Reformation.
The radical ideas of a church governed by Elders rather than a Pope, that the Bible should be in the language of the people, rather than Latin; that God alone is Lord of Conscience spread across Europe, where other reformers including John Calvin and John Knox gave voice to what we now know as the Presbyterian Church.

Join us on Reformation Sunday, October 25th, where we will celebrate the Reformers, celebrate a visit from “John Calvin” and a bagpiper! If you would like, wear your kilts!
